Stephane, the prototype is in the original developer's repo, and is based on another development branch by the maintainer of wfs-ng, which has also not been merged into the main repo. So the bad news is that there is no support for complex feature consumption in the main repo.
The slightly better new is that this "GML Client" looks quite interesting as it also supports loading of application schemas, giving it good support for complex types.
