Not sure I understand the question. If I was doing a tutorial to day I
would probably do JSON - but tutorials need to be clear & readable (which
is not your use case).

There is one "gap" in the text representation, and that is the "resuse" of
times afforded by the AttributeDescriptor / AttributeType split. I would
also look at how restrictions are used to enforce restrictions such as
string length.
