I can have Simone and Daniele have a look, they are familiar with raster
reading,
reprojection issues, reading gutters and the like.
But it's good to have it in the open, you never know what another pair of
eyes
can see, even if the code to determine the reading resolutions are areas is
indeed pretty complex (who the heck said that rasters are simple?... they
are
only as long as you don't play too much with them, but outside of the
simple case, they can get a lot more complex than vector data...)
