Fair enough - although we have not changed API much recently there should
be some dead classes to clean up. Perhaps we could make 13.x the release
where we remove AbstractDataStore.
One thing I was looking at was the number of magic system property switches
we have in our codebase - with the best documentation being in the
javadocs. I wonder if we could make a custom javadoc tag to spit out a
reference page for this stuff. I guess it gets even more crazy at the
GeoServer level.
