TLDR: Please match the parameters exactly so we can "drop" property-ng into
place and have downstream apps continue to work with no change.

So why are they different?  I had planned to use it as a simple example
that just did a single file at a time (in (order to show how FileDataStore
can work with DirectoryDataStore). Once I started down that path Andrea
pointed out the sheer number of test cases in geoserver that would need to
be changed.
