Hahaha, that's a pretty creative show, but I'm suprised no app broke fully.
Just to be sure, the DescribeFeatureType returns "xs:anyType" as the
type for the xml attribute?

Unsure, each format has a different set of authors and story, I guess they
all use toString because it's the easiest thing, and the fastest (GeoServer
is often criticized for being a slow WFS server, let's make sure we don't
make things significantly worse ;-) )
