I'm not sure we work the account creation manually... it's hard to tell if
the person asking is a spammer or not,
and against bots we can just setup a captcha.
I have the feeling we might have less work to do if we allow self
registration, and just disable all spammers when
they start making noise... in the end what was Xircles doing to prevent
spammer access, you could self register
there, is was just not too obvious where...
Since we have the script person around, I'm wondering how hard it would be
to prepare a script that can be used
to disable a user and remove all of its comments from Jira, to have a "one
click" option to just eradicate a known
spammer.
Also, wondering if we can limit the rest api usage to admins, rationale, a
spammer making real damage is probably
going to use it.
