Hello,
we (GeoSolutions) have been contacted by a customer who is having issues
with the community MongoDB plugin for geoserver to improve it in terms
of features, performance and alignment with the GeoTools latest changes.
I would be happy to become the module maintainer as well.
This morning I read in the minutes of yesterday's GeoTools / GeoServer
meeting that "Boundless would like to donate MongoDB datastore as a
geotools unsupported module" which overlaps with what we are doing in
various ways. Since we are in early stages of our work, we would be
happy to port over the boundless plugin and base our work on it, but the
timeframe for this decision is small (I can stop waiting for it a couple
of days at most).
Let us know if it is ok that we proceed with the port on our own,
coordinating with people from Boundless if necessary or if we have to
move forward as usual.
