Hi List, We are working on improving the SLD ContrastEnhancement support by adding some more Normalize algorithm and support for input parameters.
Current Normalize ContrastMethod simply maps raster min max to 0, 255. We are going to add some more algorithms to Normalize such as StretchToMinMax with support for Min,Max params so that you can specify (min,max) range to be linearly mapped to 0,255. We would also like to support clipping/clamping. In such a context we have taken a look around and we found that some tools as QGIS define clipping by mapping values outside the specified range to -1 whilst some other math tools define clipping like this: ClipValueToMinMax(Value,Min,Max) = Value < Min ? Min : Value > Max ? Max : Value, resulting in mapping values outside the range to Min and Max respectively. What we can do is supporting both of them through 2 different algorithms such as clamping to specified Min and Max and Clamping values outside the specified range to 0, 255 (when dealing with bytes). What do you think about it? Do you have any experience on these clipping/clamping concepts to suggest a good name for the 2 different approaches? Something like ClampToMinMax vs ClipToZeroMax?
