I'm not sure about that, what I have done is mainly moving some helper
classes in gt-coverage to make them available as dependencies for all the
coverage modules/plugins since they were isolated on imageMosaic.
At the end, I didn't add any new method to the GridCoverage*Reader
interfaces.
Let me know what do you think about that.
I'm also going to write on the Devel list.

Long story short, no stability issues are foreseen. But if you think
