Hi all, the PR to remove OGR-BridJ is ready, and has a follow up in GeoServer:
- https://github.com/geotools/geotools/pull/2957 - https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver/pull/4276 The OGR module is still split into a core and a jni module... I have considered merging them, but to be honest, cannot justify the time. I can also entertain you with why it's a good idea to keep the separate... JNI is not loved, and efforts are underway to eventually replace it. There is the well known JNA, and the lesser known JNR (used by JRuby), in parallel the official OpenJDK project Panama is working on a third alternative to JNI. With this in mind, it's probably best to keep the JNI module separate, so that we can build on a better JNI replacement later.
