Hi, ArcSDE have been deprecated from ESRI. I belive they stopped supporting the server version in 2012-13. Client side it has taken a bit longer, and there have been a piecewise deprecation. I do belive that the last versions of ArcMap doesn't have any support for ArcSDE.
