How much memory do you allocate to the JVM? (You can set it by
supplying the -Xmx command line argument like so: java -Xmx256M
com.foo.MyClass) I believe the default is 64MB, which I've often found
insufficient for StyledMapPane. The best value depends on your data,
but I run with 128 or 256 just fine. (Note that the maximum possible
-Xmx value depends on your hardware architecture, for Intel x86 it's
about 1600M.)
well, I've played around with those values, having the same thoughts as
you had and increased the number to up to 1024MB, which was still not
enough.
I had a look at the JavaDoc and the sources of geotools and found a
LiteRendererStyledMapPane, I hope it's a StyledMapPane for LiteRenderer
*g* Because, the file works with the LiteRenderer.
Btw: The file is 38,9MB big, which isn't that big. How big were your
biggest files? The out of memory-error does not occur, when using point
symbolizers instead of line symbolizers, but I can't draw streets with
points ;) but maybe this is a hint to somebody who can tell me how to
bypass this error?
