Hi,

I think this is a geotools issue...

We're using Geoserver 1.3.0a stable with Oracle 9.2 Spatial to store our
geometry.
When I've been adding feature types, most of the time I have to push the
generate button (generates feature bounds - GeoServer config page)
twice, because the first time I do it, it usually tells me that "The
FeatureType 'whatever' has a NULL extent. HINT: the dataset is empty or
has no default geometry attribute." The second time I push it, it works.
I get this in the log (further log attached):

17/02/2006 17:14:49 org.geotools.data.oracle.OracleDataStore
getSDOGeometryAttribute
WARNING: Could not map SRID 8307 to CRS:java.io.IOException: No CRS for

Hi Miles, I am working on the oracle datastore today. Currently the generate button is dependent on the metadata in your oracle table, and I only recognize 1 or two of the axis names that oracle supports. I have a big fat oracle spatial book here and should be able to put in the rest.

The SRS code is not defined to be EPSG all the time, you can use your Oracle SRID numbers, it is just unlikely that any client will understand you. The relationship between SRID and EPSG is rather tenious, you can place a EPSG:# authority in your WKT definitions to complete the handshake.
