Claudio, Geotools doesn't have support for GDB, you'll have to use a converted. FWTools should hopefully be compiled with support for GDB in the Windows version. On linux, you're basically up a creek, since GDB is embedded in MSAccess and just reading MSAccess on anything but Windows is a real PITA.
