We added a "Lambert Azimuthal Equal Area" projection (EPSG code 9820) thanks to
Beate Stollberg's initiative. This new projection method allows for new CRS
support including (but not limited to) "ETRS89 / ETRS-LAEA" (EPSG code 3035).
This new projection is available on SVN trunk for Geotools 2.4 development. The
code is derived from the Proj4 library.

We have only two test points right now:

http://svn.geotools.org/geotools/trunk/gt/module/referencing/test/org/geotools/referencing/test-data/scripts/LambertAzimuthalEqualArea.txt

Any volunter for adding more test points would be very appreciated. Idealy, we
would like many points in different scenarios: using an oblique projection, a
polar projection, an equatorial projection. And also using an ellipsoid and
using a sphere.

If there is any volunter for adding such test points, you can post on the list
a
modified version of the above-cited scripts/LambertAzimuthalEqualArea.txt file.

Thanks,

        Martin
