Hey,
I am trying to set up a GIS-based web application using Ajax
technology(google web tool GWT). Geotools seems to be a good package since
it is java based.

The goal is quite simple, i want the user to input a shape file name, then
click submit button, then web map client can request map service from remote
web map server, which will return the map to be displayed in the browser.
Also, i want user to be able to nagivate the map (like zoom, pan etc).

http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTOOLS/Web+Map+Server+Tutorial

the above link gives a simple code example. However, it did not show where
to specify the shape file name. It is highly appreciated if you can provide
me with any helpful information. A sample code will be great.

Thanks,
Michelle
