You can try udig.refractions.net for an example of using the GeoTools 
WMS client code. You should just be able to set the Style object on your 
GetMapRequest.

There is a example of making a GetMapRequest here:

PS. At this time we only use GetMapRequest with HTTP GET (not POST) so 
the size of SLD you use may be limited.
