Yep - once again I make my offer to remove the example code :-(  If we 
cannot keep it up to date
we should not annoy everyone with it.

Please note the examples are on the wiki (you can create an account and 
correct them), and some
good examples are included in the demo directory. I would stick to the 
demo directory and test
cases ....

Nope - we are not refactoring them. They are *gone*; after several years 
nobody stepped up to
maintain StyledMapPane.

Please note that JMapPane is just a toy designed to get you started; you 
should build your own
application (we are a library not a display framework).  I did put this 
wish down as an idea
for the Google Summer of Code.
