I've commited fixes for both of these issues to the current geotools 'trunk'. From looking at your email (and your reference to 'revision') I think you're getting the source code from subversion, right? I'll add these fixes to the current 2.3.x branch, and then commit them. If I do that, can you build and test them in your environment using your local checkout of the 2.3.x geotools code?
