Hi Theodor, Can you perhaps send us the code of how you are setting up the transformer. If i run it "out of the box" i definitely get prefixes. A couple of questions for you.
1. What version of geotools are you using? 2. Since you have the debugger handy it would be nice to know what the concrete subclass of org.xml.sax.ContentHandler is. I believe that different implementations can be used depending what is on your classpath.
