Hmmm... which this attitude you make people not wanting to help you :) I read the mail three times before deciding to help anyways. > I have a customers shapefile which needs to be > displayed in our stand alone application's JPanel. > > The shapefile contains lat/long points but has no > projection info (no associated .prj file). > > I am attempting to reproject from this data as > WGS1984 to another projection (e.g. Lambert > Conformal). Looking at your sample, you want just visual reprojection, which is something the renderer will do for you. I don't have time to put down the code, but the idea is: * use CRS.decode(EPSG:4326) to get the CRS for wgs84 * use CRS.decode(EPSG:xxx) where xxx is the code that represents the lambert conformal conic you need (there are many) (see http://sigma.openplans.org:8080/geoserver/srsHelp.do for a full list of EPSG codes) * setup your map layer with a feature source you got from the shapefile * add it to a map context * setup the map context are of interest with a referenced envelope expressed in the projected coordinates you want to display, (and with the conformal conic crs) * set the map context in the renderer, and ask it to be painted. That should be all Cheers Andera ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
