The code in unsupported/isogeometry is a "fork" of JTS ... why you ask?
JTS is an implementation of the Simple Feature for SQL definition of
Geometry
unsupported/isogeometry is an implementation of the ISO 19107 definition
of Geometry

Why do we need two definitions? The JTS one is focused on a "flat world"
geometry; everything is straight lines on a plane. The ISO 19107
definition is more complicated (curves on a sphere, 3d structures, etc...).

For now (ie the next couple of years) use JTS; and help round up
funds/volunteers for the ISO19107 work.
