Hi again Jaroslav: I have learned a bit since I last responded to your message. Apparently the XML specification gobbles up all whitespace between elements. So the correct approach would be to make a function that adds a new line. Even so the renderer right now does not know about new lines; and would get a bit confused.
So this falls under the category of things that cannot be done; please use Two TextSmbolizers with an offset to arrange them on separate "lines".
