I've changed the subject of your thread so that it's more obvious to the developers who work on the rendering side of GeoTools. I'm afraid that I don't have a detailed enough knowledge of the rendering code to help you directly. I'll also contact the relevant developers to make sure that they see your query. However, whether they can respond depends on how busy they are at the moment. The users' list is a labour of love in people's spare time.
