Hi Oliver, > Is there a way in geotools to create a Layer in the MapContext and put a > Graphic(rectangle etc.) on it? >
Not that I know of. If the graphic is a polygon you could create an in-memory feature collection with the graphics represented as JTS Polygons and add this as a layer. For graphics that are more complex but small you might consider displaying them as feature labels (perhaps for invisible point features). Hope this helps.
