Hi,
I am trying to solve GIS optimization task. I managed to find some books about
GIS, but they only mention such things and doesn't give actual ways of doing
it.The task is to find the best location (land) for lets's say 100 x 100 m. for
building a house. Parameters are states, min - max distance between lake, min -
max distance between roads, min - max distance between some hill (min - max
height given too). I figured out I could find the territory where house could
be build by using buffers, difference, unions and etc. After that I could
eliminate some formed polygons by area size, max width and max height. After
that I still need somewhere to put the house in the map (I do have it
multi-polygon). And the only solution right now is doing brute force?
What is the best approach for these kind of optimization tasks? Maybe someone
has experience in these kind of work?
Regards,David
