Well, and it is not as simple as that - I am pretty sure there are 
examples that are not really up to date with 2.7 or even earlier 
versions. For instance, jodi's graph examples (or is it the how tos on 
codehouse, or wiki?? Who knows... that's really confusing if someone on 
arrives on scene now...) are pretty old, and there is no indication 
(unless you try)  whether they work with the curent version. That's why 
I think the version to which the example applies should always be 
clearly indicated, and SNAPSHOT examples hsould be especially flagged, 
as they are prone to change.

The fact that the online javadoc is 2.6.0 and not 2.6.3. is not 
available is really a very bad thing form a user perspective. Again, as 
a maven user I am fine and can get whatever synced with my repository. 
But as a simple once of user, or someone exploring the possibilities, or 
not working with maven , they will never know.

I would support a versioned javadoc URL with all versions available, as 
Mathieu put it.
