Coordinate is the lightweight JTS class for storing X, Y (and
optionally Z) ordinates. It works at double precision (like Java's
Point2D.Double).

DirectPosition2D stores x and y ordinates like a Coordinate but it can
also store the map projection that pertains to the x,y location (ie.
the CoordinateReferenceSystem).

You can get the JTS distribution from here as a zip file:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/jts-topo-suite/ It includes the
javadocs.

If you use Maven to build your GeoTools projects (highly recommended)
the JTS javadocs will be downloaded automagically for you.

Hope this helps,

Michael
