Thats what worked for me:
BufferedImage bi = (BufferedImage)getBaseImage();
BufferedImage clonedBi = new BufferedImage(bi.getWidth(),
bi.getHeight(), bi.getType());
Graphics g = clonedBi.getGraphics();
g.drawImage(bi, 0, 0, null);
But ideally you need to make sure that rendering is finished. I can tell
you more about it if you need it.
