PostgreSQL is shutting the connection in your face, maybe due to network
issues, maybe due to
timeouts.
Enable connection validation when setting up the store "params" (the param
key shoudl be in
the base class of PostgisNGDataStoreFactory) to have the connection pool
check if a connection
is still alive before returning it to GeoTools.
