Eh, it got feeded with jars every now and then when the old opengeo repo was
offline or serving outdated jars.
I believe the only way to verify is to build from an empty local repo,
without
that reference, and see how it goes

But generally speaking, I'd assume it's needed for imageio-ext jars at
least,
maybe for some netcdf stuff too.
