Well, we just need to write a new store based on the new API.
End of the road only for the current one  :-p
I would say seriously non-trivial task to create a new store type via ArcGIS Runtime (would need arcGIS licence) or via the rest interface. Looks like you can also play SDE ST_GEOMETRY via SQL - but would be a huge departure from current code.
