Hi Cameron, Rob, Paul, list, I forwarded this to my friend Gobe Hobona (http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/~lgzgeh1/).
He replied that Rob Lemmens's PhD project used Oracle BPM. http://www.itc.nl/library/papers_2006/phd/lemmens.pdf The OGC OWS-4 Workflow testbed used Oracle BPM too. OGC 06-187r1 SAW-GEO used ActiveBPEL. http://www.allhands.org.uk/2007/proceedings/papers/789.pdf Now, I'm not sure about the others, but there is a community open source version of ActiveBPEL, though I'm not sure of the license... I used this to follow what was done in SAW-GEO. It all worked and at the time I was impressed with ActiveBPEL given my very limited experience with other workflow enactors :-) I am to feed a workflows requirements section for an NCeSS e-Infrastructure project report (from a geographical perspective) being edited by Rob. Paul has been developing code to use workflow enactors within a portal environment using NetBeans and Taverna (http://taverna.sourceforge.net/). The application can be broadly described as Geospatial. Taverna is open source under LGPL Version 2.1. I'm not expert in this, but I am interested in what others are doing. As described, I have work to do... TIA for any feedback... We are planning to use a BPM tool internally (for non-Geospatial work) and I'd prefer to select a tool that we can use in the Geospatial space as well. Two contenders we are considering are http://www.processmaker.com/ and http://www.intalio.com/ -- Cameron Shorter Geospatial Systems Architect Tel: +61 (0)2 8570 5050 Mob: +61 (0)419 142 254 Think Globally, Fix Locally Geospatial Solutions enhanced with Open Standards and Open Source http://www.lisasoft.com _______________________________________________ Geowanking mailing list [email protected] http://geowanking.org/mailman/listinfo/geowanking_geowanking.org _______________________________________________ Geowanking mailing list [email protected] http://geowanking.org/mailman/listinfo/geowanking_geowanking.org
