In AppEngine there is some spatial support - java version has capability for full JTS functionality - python version not so much, but GeoModel, amongst other examples, makes querying for point data straightforward
I don't think simpledb is really built for spatial support, but their new mysql offering might be worth looking at? Azure doesn't seem to offer spatial support either http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ssdsgetstarted/thread/6bd65d21-1727-4bb5-8dbb-d4dfc44ce202 I guess it also depends on what you think "cloud" means. Are my ec2/postgis instances in the cloud? Or are do standard virtual servers not count? Does it make a difference that my postgres clusters are actually on Elastic Block Storage? -Josh On Fri, Nov 20, 2009 at 11:29 AM, Raj Singh <[email protected]> wrote: > So, does Amazon SimpleDB do spatial? > http://aws.amazon.com/simpledb/ > > Or how about MS SQL Azure? > http://www.microsoft.com/windowsazure/sqlazure/ > > Any others to know about? > > --- > Raj > > > > _______________________________________________ > Geowanking mailing list > [email protected] > http://geowanking.org/mailman/listinfo/geowanking_geowanking.org >
