OK, just to make sure this point gets made:
1) ImagePyramid is for PhotoOverlays, not GroundOverlays
2) A KML Region based NetworkLink hierarchy of GroundOverlays is often
referred to as a SuperOverlay, but there is nothing in KML about a
SuperOverlay. The tiles created are often referred to as an
ImagePyramid, but don't use the ImagePyramid element. Instead,
generally they are created using a tiled directory structure.
gdal2tiles is a great way to create them.
