Hello Renee
Although google earth does not necessarily = geoweb, in my
conversations a while back at a NSGIC event [http://www.nsgic.org/ ] I
heard many Chief Geographers from US states informally share examples of
using Google Earth as the preferred app for public presentations and
briefings for state executives and legislators., regardless of the GIS
they used for day to day mapping ( usually Arcinfo ). And I heard many
of them say that if they didn't use Google Earth they'd be upstaged by
some citizems' group showing up at planning meetings with prettier
presentations.

Hi Everyone,
I, at McGill U, and some guys at UCL and Nottingham are trying to
conduct research into why and how governments (municipal, national,
agencies, public private partnerships) are developing geoweb
applications. But we need some best practices cases. So can you point
us to exemplary government users/developers of geolocational apps, be
it on Google Earth, Flickr, iPhone, Twitter, Maker!, OSM, OpenLayers,
etc.?
I myself am more interested in the subnational so if you know of a
city or an agency (e..g, a state Forest Service) is developing these
apps, that'd be cool.
I'd be more than happy to share results, interview instruments, etc.
thanks,
Renee
