Job Title: GIS/Mapping Engineer 

Description: 
ecoReserve is seeking an experienced GIS developer with top-notch PHP and GIS 
chops.  Ideally, you will have built an application using the Google Maps API 
with custom imagery.  Your task will be to take ortho-rectified aerial imagery 
of 15 cm resolution (covering as much as 5,000 acres) and integrate it into an 
interactive user interface that uses the Google Maps API and a mySQL database 
for search and display of map content at different levels of resolution. This 
project will be repeated frequently in different locations and thus your code 
must support easy replication and scaling. The web layer for our application 
will be a standards-based XHTML/CSS web layer with map user interface elements 
coded in Javascript.   

Required Skills: 
- ESRI or equivalent GIS/Mapping package 
- Google Maps API 
- PHP, preferably with MVC framework experience (Symfony, although experience 
with Zend, Cake, and CodeIgniter is also helpful) 
- CSS 
- JavaScript 
- mySQL 

Desired Skills: 
- use of GIS/mapping for ecological planning or environmental conservation 
- LAMP stack 
- Subversion 

Location: Strongly prefer SF candidate, however, could be flexible with right 
candidate.  You will collaborate with ecoReserve core team in San Francisco, 
and PHP team in Pune, India. 
Hours:  Full-time.  Occasional early AM and late PM (Pacific time) Skype calls 
with India will be required. 
Compensation:  Based on experience. Could be consulting or employee 
relationship.
