Hey WhereCampers! WhereCamp runs Friday/Saturday at Stanford Campus. We went with Stanford Campus because it gives us a unique mixture of indoor and outdoor green space in an urban setting. Because of this I'm encouraging that we all use Friday as an outdoor day. We have less indoor space Friday anyway ( since an unrelated small event is co-sharing one part of our space at Fisher Hall for the day ).
If you can help volunteer - wrangle people - coordinate - please message Steve or myself. A few links: If you can't make it you can watch the action on http://twitter.com/wherecamp and there is a Facebook group too http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=107094659312375 . There is of course the http://wherecamp.org main site and our blog at http://blog.wherecamp.org . Also please register at http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/7762461/CA/Stanford/Wherecamp-2011/Stanford-Alumni-Center-Stanford-University-Campus/?ps=5 . I've noticed some registrations at http://plancast.com/p/3ubw/wherecamp-sf-2011 as well but we need to try plan around food so upcoming is best... Finally donations are always welcome at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/1304577025 . Here's the rough schedule for Thursday evening through Saturday evening: Thursday PM A pile of us are getting together at the Old Pro in Palo Alto - join us! Friday AM We'll co-plan sessions as a mix of indoor and outdoor activity - at 9 AM ish. We'll have snacks catered by the Alumni Center Cafe (if you get there early!) Bring a jacket! And any geo activities you can think of - games, augmented reality apps, especially social projects. I'm hoping we use the indoor space as a kind of game coordination room while most people are running around outside trying different apps. I have no idea if this is going to work out. The weather looks like it will be reasonable - http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KNUQ/2011/4/20/MonthlyHistory.html#calendar Friday Afternoon - Lunch is sponsored by SimpleGeo and Factual and catered by Megan at http://www.cateringbytow.com/ Dinner sponsored by Urban Mapping and catered by http://www.cateringbytow.com/ as well - thanks Ian, Josie & to Megan our caterer! We have the space till 10pm sharp. Then we get kicked out. I suspect we won't schedule any activities for after 7pm. Saturday AM We'll co-plan sessions as a mix of indoor and outdoor activity - at 9 AM ish. We'll have snacks catered by the Alumni Center Cafe (if you get there early!) Talking and Hacking shall be permitted. Saturday Afternoon - Bing is sponsoring a Saturday BBQ and this is catered by Stanford Catering We are closing out a bit early Saturday - 6pm - and I'm encouraging folks to break off into smaller groups and go into Palo Alto proper. We do technically have the space till 10PM but I want to formally close the event early on Saturday so that people can possibly make it home for Easter Sunday. After this one there's a Wherecamp Boston and a WhereCamp EU coming up. Looking forward to having a great time - see you all there!
