You all technically created a local tile cache... per TFM "OpenStreetMap's own servers are run entirely on donated resources" so heavy use of tiles is discouraged. That said, from the photos on the bakery blog, seems like OSM servers were not used. In fact, since the cup cakes are laid out on the table, seems like there were no servers employed at all.
