Geowankers near and far: The Spring issue of The BAAMA Journal <http://www.baama.org/journal> (Bay Area Automated Mapping Association) will soon be here. Thus far, the BAAMA Board has been fortunate to have an amazing group of cartographers contribute their dynamic, clever, and compelling maps to the Map Gallery. Do you have a favorite map creation you might care to share? We would love to see your work.
Map Gallery Submission Guidelines - + Maps must be authored by a Bay Area resident or feature a Bay Area location. + Maps may be larger than 8.5 x 11 inches but will most likely be scaled down. Outstanding maps may be published at approximately 11x17 inches. + Greyscale or color graphics are acceptable. File color must be CMYK. + Files can be submitted in the following formats: Native Adobe Application Files in PC format, High Resolution (recommended 300 dpi) .JPG, .TIF, .EPS, or .PDF. + Include the following caption in an accompanying word or text doc: Title of the Map. (Dimensions __" x __," medium.) Created using __ software. Funding entity. Created by [you author], job title, place of employment [either when you created the map or where you are now]. + Send maps to <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected] Deadline - We publish The Journal on Earth Day, April 22nd. We gather all maps six weeks before The Journal's release; content due date is March 1, 2013. Organizing The Journal's content far in advance of publishing gives us plenty of time for editing, layout, etc. Feel free to contact me, I'm always available for feedback or questions.
