Software Developer/Planner on UrbanFootprint/Regional Planning Team

Help Us Build SimCity for Real!

Calthorpe Associates is seeking help from experienced, mission-driven software
engineers in the development of cutting edge open source land use planning and
modeling software.

Calthorpe Associates<http://www.calthorpe.com> is widely regarded as one of the
nation's most influential urban planning and design firms, with more than three
decades of experience designing sustainable, transit-oriented, carbon sensitive
cities, neighborhoods, and regions. We are distilling our knowledge and
planning methods into an open source software product called
UrbanFootprint<http://www.calthorpe.com/scenario_modeling_tools>, designed to
bring on-the-fly geospatial scenario development and advanced analytics to the
web. UrbanFootprint allows cities or regions to design and test alternative
futures for their impacts on carbon emissions, travel behavior, pollution,
energy and water use, fiscal and cost consequences, public health impacts, and
a host of other critical indicators.

Initially developed with support from the state of California, UrbanFootprint
is now being customized for use by major regional, county, and local
jurisdictions across California and is slated to play a major role in the
development and modeling of sustainable community plans. UrbanFootprint
