Dave, I just came back from holiday, and one of my first things to do is start loading data. I would have liked to have this done 8 months ago, but our server has been having issues. The good news is that we have the old server (now fixed) and a new server! The new server is going to be ready to use sometime in the next 2 days.
I have a bunch of GNIS (name/pop) datasets that I've combined and cleaned up ready to upload, plus some [very] heavily processed VMAP0 stuff. The TIGER stuff takes a while to properly load (and remove a bunch of topological issues) which is my first order of business. I plan on heavily modifying the notes that I originally wrote (that chris holmes refered to) as they were just notes so that I wouldnt forget what I had done previously. The new version should be understandable to "normal" people. I also plan on making the final results available (most likely as postgis dump files, but if I can get it to fit in shapefile then probably that too). I also see that TIGER 2005fe was released in december, so I may use that instead of 2004se. Anyone know if OGR handles them? Please tell me what you've been doing, dave ---------------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: https://webmail.limegroup.com/ _______________________________________________ Geowanking mailing list [email protected] http://lists.burri.to/mailman/listinfo/geowanking
