Does anyone have any comments on the New GPS enabled Nokia N95. The phone
is
about to be released in Australia and I was wondering if anyone has any
feedback on it.

Comment - it looks really cool, and I want one, but unavailable in the US
yet.
This summer will be very interesting for mobile GPS/location. Coming
out this Spring/Summer:
iPhone, Nokia N95, OpenMoKo Neo1973, Nokia N800 (already out, but GPS
apps just coming to fruition), and *others*.
Any word on the API's in the N95? Especially Py60 support, and Opera
Platform (browser) support for Javascript grabbing of the mobile
location (was possible/beta in first release of Opera Platform for
enabled web applications.

How about the BlackBerry 8800, released this week? It's another GSM
with GPS, and thinner than the pretty BlackBerry Pearl. Anyone
messed with one...?
Personally, I may wait for the 8800 variant with a camera, supposedly
coming out soon, to make the purchase.

No doubt that GeoVector and Mapion are up to some interesting things.
Re the 3D navigatable world, when MS drops streetside
http://preview.local.live.com into its 3D virtualearth - that's got to be
an interesting step forward in a similar vein.
I think indeed there's no smoke without fire on the consistent rumors of
Google's potential realworld/virtual world with a social theme. Be a great
way to get people to more involved and spending more ad viewing time in one
of their apps.

If you like Nokia and the Symbian 60 platform, this phone is just
about perfect. I have the predecessor, the N73. Great 3mp camera,
nice flickr integration, google maps mobile runs nicely, all kinds of
nice synching with Mac OSX with a little effort (calendar, contacts
w/ photos, music, and pictures).
I hear the camera's image quality isn't a big improvement over the
N73 (although it's 5mp vs. 3), but you get GPS and WiFi and probably
will support a 4Gb memory card.
We have to see what smart2go does for mapping. It's still limping
into production and doesn't look like a particularly geowanking-
friendly platform. But I'll probably be a 1st adopter of this one.
