An old post but I hadn't noticed this before. It's something I had been wishing for in GML . Maybe my desire is more that these grammars have a more organic evolution path: that they are more open to being extended and improved. When a grammar is made by one party, it usually moves quickly. When a grammar is made by a bureaucracy it seems to become frozen and static. Granted people like to have a grammar be definitive so that their parsers can continue to parse it. However for me I'm more interested in the grammar being expressive. - a
