I'm torn about posting this announcement on the list-on the one hand
it's appropriate given what we do, but on the other hand I don't want to
be overly commercial, so I apologize in advance if you feel it's
inappropriate...

UMI is looking for a senior project manager/technologist to help grow
our product and technology base. This individual will be responsible for
systems architecture, long term tech planning and some product
management. Extensive project management is crucial. Deep experience
with the geo isn't, but curiosity about it is. We use Manifold, postgis,
find ESRI to be overly cumbersome (and expensive), embrace new ideas and
generally find that if there's a new way to do something, we'll
investigate it.

I've been accused of 'geo-discrimination' before, but traditional GIS
skills/thinking really don't fit the bill for what we are looking for.
15+ years experience is ideal. As you can tell, this isn't a
fully-formed description as I prefer that interesting candidates
approach us and we take it from there...

Thanks for reading
