Hi, Quite interesting. FYI you can take a look at gvSIG Mobile project, we are creating a new free GIS software for mobile devices. Just starting but we released a working "alpha" some weeks ago. More info at http://www.gvsig.gva.es/index.php?id=descripcion&L=2&K=1 (project page) http://www.foss4g2007.org/presentations/view.php?abstract_id=124 (foss4g2007 presentation) http://geomaticblog.net/gb2/es/2008-03-20-first_release_gvsig_mobile (well, just a dumb blog post :P) About remotely data, gvSIG mobile works now with WMS but it will support other remote services and formats like GML and KML.
