Position in Global Politics/International Relations


The Department of Political Science at Rutgers University-Newark seeks to hire 
a tenure-track assistant (associate) professor in Global Politics / 
International Relations.  The Department is looking for candidates in all areas 
of specialization  whose work connects with the traditional and emerging 
strengths of the university in global governance, comparative development 
studies, international organizations/ institutions, global political economy, 
gender & global politics, and normative aspects of globalization (such as 
ethics and human rights, humanitarian intervention, labor force migration, 
human trafficking, terrorism, peace studies, and studies in race, ethnicity, 
and sexuality).  Candidates with an area specialization connecting with these 
issues are also encouraged to apply; we are particularly interested in those 
with comparative expertise in the Global South.  The University and Department

The Department of Political Science offers the B.A. and M.A. in Political 
Science, as well as a combined BA/MA degree.  Teaching will include courses in 
global governance, world politics, foreign policy, and IPE, as well as 
specialized courses in areas of particular interest.  The Department also 
participates in a number of interdisciplinary Masters and Ph.D. programs on the 
Newark campus including Global Affairs and American Studies.  These offer 
opportunities for graduate teaching and thesis supervision in Political 
Science, Global Affairs, and American Studies.


Candidates should have a PhD. in hand, a record of scholarly research and 
experience in both undergraduate and graduate teaching. Candidates should 
submit a letter of application indicating research and teaching interests, 
curriculum vitae, a writing sample (no more than 15 pages), proof of teaching 
experience (syllabus and student evaluations) and three letters of
