Dear all,
For our research project on changing norms of global governance, we wish
to do a content analysis of textbooks in different policy fields,
including international environmental politics. We seek to trace norm
change over the past four decades (1970-2009) and are therefore
currently looking for textbooks (or textbook-like works) from the 1970s
and 1980s, based on the understanding that their aspiration would be to
synthesize the academic knowledge of a particular time.
We have searched several national libary catalogues (in English, German,
French and Spanish) and complemented this with book review searches in a
number of journals. Nevertheless, the search remains difficult for the
first two decades - so far, we have only been able to identify only very
few such books.
Since many of you have been teaching in the field for quite some time,
we would appreciate any ideas about textbooks (or equivalent texts) on
(international) environmental issues from the 1970s and 1980s. Please
send responses directly to us; if there is interest, we can then send
the complete list to the entire group.
