The successful candidate will be responsible for some teaching in environmental policy and governance and for conducting internationally oriented research in her or his field of expertise. The Environmental Policy Group, within the Department of Social Sciences at Wageningen University, is a leading international center in the area of environmental social science, policy research and education. Our international staff (about 15) and PhD students (about 45) focus on topics associated with sustainable consumption and production, sustainable natural resource use and global environmental change. Disciplinary and interdisciplinary research is conducted at the global level as well as in quite a number of countries across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. *We ask* - Doctorate in sociology, human geography, political science or other social science disciplines related to environmental studies. - Experience in conducting innovative social scientific research focused on the environment and in an international setting. - A proven ability to publish in international academic journals. - Ability to write personal grant applications. - Excellent written and oral skills in English at an academic level, and a proven capacity to work effectively in an international team for research and education - Consideration will particularly be given to the recently graduated PhDs who can demonstrate their potential for innovative contributions within the research profile of the group. *We offer* a temporary contract for two years for 1.0 fte (38 hours per week). Gross Salary: from € 3195,00 to € 4374,00 (scale 11), based on full time employment and dependent on expertise and experience. In addition we offer you a holiday bonus and an end-of-the-year bonus.
